The Hamilton Dahlia society Open Show will be held on Sunday 28 January 2024  - still at the Pavilion in the magnificent Hamilton Gardens, New Zealand.

The Show will be open to the public from 11am - 3pm, entry will be $3 per adult, eftpos will be available, and many potted dahlia varieties will be for sale.

​

We look forward to enjoying all those beautiful DAHLIAs which have survived 2023 and meeting with our fellow Dahlia gardeners and enthusiasts in Hamilton.

HAMILTON DAHLIA SOCIETY OPEN SHOW Saturday 27/Sunday 28 January 2024 (Show open to public Sunday 28th 11am – 3pm) Hamilton Gardens Pavilion, Cobham Drive, Hamilton.

Exhibitors please enter via Gate 2. Go to far end of parking area, follow sign to Staff & Service Lane and proceed to far end of drive (entry to Pavilion is via the back door). • Saturday 27 January - 12 noon Pavilion opens for set-up - 1 - 5pm staging (especially for Intermediate (B) class and Novice exhibitors) • 

Sunday 28 January 2024 - 6.30am open for staging (all blooms to be staged by 10am) - 10.00am judging starts - 11am – 3pm open to public - 2.30pm Presentation of Awards

Exhibitor categories 1. ‘Special Classes’: Open to all exhibitors 2. ‘Open’ Class: Any person who has exhibited for three or more years at a recognised Dahlia Show is restricted to entry in the ‘Special Classes’and ‘Open Classes’. 3. ‘Intermediate (B) Class’: Any person who has exhibited at a recognised Dahlia Show for between two and three years is eligible to enter all Classes except for the ‘Novice’Classes. 4. ‘Novice’ Class: Any person who has exhibited at a recognised Dahlia Show for less than one year is elibible to enter all Classes.

Conditions of Entry • No entries are required prior to Show. • No entries to be removed prior to end of Show without permission of Show Manager. COMPLAINTS/CONCERNS Any exhibitor complaints shall be in writing and given to the Show Manager by 2:30pm on the day of the Show. The Appeal Committee shall consist of Show Manager and two other members of the Hamilton Dahlia Society Executive with power to co-opt. The Appeal Committee will make a final decision and notify the complainant of the outcome.

CLASS E: BASKET OF DAHLIAS Maximum size 50cm x 50cm, minimum 5 dahlias and non-flowering foliage only, no accessories and the handle must be visible, ie capable of being lifted by the handle – max 2 Entries per person

CLASS F: CHINA TEACUP & SAUCER ARRANGEMENT Micro dahlias – 3 blooms, 1 entry per person

CLASS G: DAHLIA IN A PHOTO FRAME 1 bloom – frame supplied; 1 entry per person

CLASS H: FLOATING WATERLILY No leaves, bowl supplied; 1 entry per person
